Privacy Policy
Version 2026-09-24Effective date: September 24, 2026
Last updated: September 24, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how The Widget Bot LLC, a Michigan limited liability company doing business as Turnout and owned by Netrork LLC ("Widget Bot," "we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use Turnout, including our website, web application, and related services (the "Service"). Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings given in our Terms of Service.
The Short Version
- We collect the information you give us to set up your account, run Shows, and apply to Shows, plus basic technical information about how the Service is used.
- When a Vendor applies to a Show, the application goes to that Show's Organizer and the people the Organizer invites to review it.
- Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store full card numbers or full bank account numbers.
- We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
- You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your information.
1. Who This Policy Covers and Our Role
This Policy covers Organizers, Vendors, Jurors, and visitors to our website.
We play two roles:
- For account information and our own operations, we decide how your information is used, and this Policy applies.
- For application and Vendor information that an Organizer collects through its Show, including answers to any custom questions the Organizer adds, we process that information on the Organizer's behalf. The Organizer decides what to collect and how to use it, and the Organizer's own privacy practices govern what it does with that information, including after it downloads or exports it. If you have questions about how an Organizer uses your information, please contact that Organizer.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us
- Account information: name, email address, phone number, organization or business name, and role.
- Organizer and Show information: Show details, venue and location, maps and booth layouts, fees, policies, and the names and email addresses of team members and Jurors you invite.
- Vendor profile and application information: business name, contact details, mailing address, product category or medium, descriptions, images of your work or booth, website and social media links, booth needs (such as size or electricity), answers to an Organizer's questions, and documents an Organizer requests (such as proof of insurance or a sales tax license).
- Jury and decision information: scores, notes, decisions (such as accepted, waitlisted, or declined), and booth assignments.
- Communications: messages sent through the Service, emails to us, support requests, and feedback.
- Payment information: Stripe collects your card details and, for Organizers, the identity and bank information needed to receive payouts. We receive limited information from Stripe, such as name, card brand, last four digits, payment status, payout status, and transaction amounts.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage information: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages viewed, referring pages, dates and times of visits, and actions taken in the Service.
- Approximate location: general location (such as city or region) based on your IP address.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 6.
Information from others
- Organizers may enter or import Vendor contact information (for example, to invite past Vendors to apply) and add notes, scores, and booth assignments.
- Stripe provides payment, payout, and account verification status.
- Security providers may provide information that helps us detect fraud, spam, and abuse.
- Public sources may be used to help verify Organizers and Shows.
3. How We Use Information
We use personal information to:
- provide and operate the Service, including creating accounts, hosting Show listings, delivering applications, recording jury decisions, managing booth assignments, and processing payments;
- send service messages, such as application confirmations, decisions, receipts, reminders, and messages Organizers send through the Service;
- provide customer support;
- verify Organizers and Shows and prevent fraud, spam, and abuse;
- keep the Service secure;
- understand how the Service is used and improve it, using aggregated or de-identified data where practical;
- send Organizers and prospective Organizers information about Turnout, which you can unsubscribe from at any time; and
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and resolve disputes.
4. How We Share Information
- With Organizers. When you apply to a Show, we share your application, the profile information included with it, your images, and your payment status with that Show's Organizer, its team members, and its Jurors. If you are accepted, the Organizer may display your name, business name, booth location, and images to promote the Show, as described in our Terms.
- With Vendors. We share Show listings, any contact details the Organizer chooses to publish, and decisions and booth assignments with the relevant Vendors.
- Public information. Show listings may be publicly visible. If the Service lets you make parts of your Vendor profile public and you choose to do so, that information will be visible to anyone.
- Service providers. We use trusted providers to run the Service, including hosting, database, storage, and security providers (such as Vercel, Neon, Cloudflare, and Amazon Web Services), payment processing (Stripe), and email delivery providers. They may use personal information only to provide services to us.
- Safety and legal reasons. We may share information to comply with the law or a valid legal request, to protect the rights, property, or safety of Widget Bot, our Users, or others, and to investigate suspected fraud. This may include sharing information with Stripe, affected Users, or law enforcement when we suspect a Show is fraudulent.
- Business transfers. If Widget Bot or Netrork LLC is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
- With your permission. We may share information when you ask us to or give us permission.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral (targeted) advertising.
5. Your Choices
- Account and profile: you can update most information in your account settings.
- Marketing emails: you can unsubscribe using the link in any marketing email. You will still receive service messages related to your account, Shows, and applications.
- Cookies: you can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may prevent the Service from working.
- Deleting your account: contact us at support@betterturnout.com or use the option in your account settings, if available. Applications you already submitted to an Organizer may remain available to that Organizer, as described in Section 1.
6. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and secure the Service. We do not use advertising cookies. Where required by law, we treat Global Privacy Control signals from your browser as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, although we do not sell or share personal information in the first place.
7. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service. After an account is closed, we delete or de-identify personal information within a reasonable time, except where we need to keep it to:
- meet tax, accounting, and legal record-keeping requirements (transaction records may be kept for up to 7 years);
- resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or enforce our Terms; or
- complete the normal rotation of our backups.
Application information within an Organizer's Show stays with that Organizer's account until the Organizer deletes it or its account is closed.
8. Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, sign-in links that expire, and established infrastructure providers. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by law. Turnout does not use passwords: you sign in with a link sent to your email address, so keeping that mailbox secure keeps your account secure.
Access by our team. Authorized Widget Bot personnel may access account, Show, and application information when needed for customer support, troubleshooting, payment and order verification, fraud and abuse prevention, and legal compliance. Access is limited to people who need it for those purposes. We do not routinely review all User Content.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we have about you and get a copy of it;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your information, targeted advertising, or certain profiling (we do not do these things); and
- appeal our decision on your request.
We offer these rights to all Users where practical, regardless of where you live. To make a request, email support@betterturnout.com. We will need to verify your identity before completing your request. You may use an authorized agent, and we may ask the agent for proof of authorization. We will not treat you differently for exercising your rights. We aim to respond within 45 days.
If your request relates to information we hold on behalf of an Organizer, we may forward your request to that Organizer or ask you to contact them directly.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Accounts are for people 18 and older. A Vendor under 18 may participate only through an account created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. If we learn that we collected personal information from a child under 13 without verified parental consent, we will delete it.
11. Where Information Is Processed
Turnout is offered only in the United States and is not directed to people outside it. Widget Bot is based in Michigan, and your information is stored and processed in the United States.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we will notify you by email or in the Service before the change takes effect. The "Last updated" date above shows when this Policy was last revised.
